ACCRA, August 2, 2018, (GJA) – THE Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) has extended the deadline for submission of entries for its 23rd Media Awards Competition, from Friday, August 3, 2018 to Friday, August 17, 2018.

A press statement signed by the GJA General Secretary, Kofi Yeboah, said: “There will NOT be any further extension after the new deadline for the awards scheduled to take place in October 2018.”

It said entries for the competition, which is open to members working in the Ghanaian media, should cover works published/broadcast from January 1,2017 to December 31, 2017.

Extension Of Deadline For Submission Of Entries For 23rd  GJA Awards Competition

The Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) wishes to announce an extension of the deadline for submission of entries for its 23rd Media Awards Competition, from Friday, August 3, 2018 to Friday, August 17, 2018. There will NOT be any further extension after the new deadline for the awards scheduled to take place in October 2018.

Entries for the competition, which is open to members working in the Ghanaian media, should cover works published/broadcast from January 1, 2017 to December 31, 2017. Awards will be given in various categories, including the following:

•    Telecommunication
•    Local Government & Decentralisation
•    Democracy & Peace-building
•    Best Student Journalist
•    GJA/Komla Dumor Most Promising Young Journalist
•    GJA/Professor P. A. V. Ansah Journalist of the Year
